Valley Garden

Valley Garden park was a gift to the people of Delaware from Emily du Pont. It is a little gem, hidden away in the chateau country of northern Delaware.  A stream winds its way down a valley  to Hoopes Reservoir, and along this stream, verged with rocks of many colors, are planted trees and plants that each in their turn fill all the seasons with color and sweet smell.  No guide book will help since many come from alien climes, but all seem to thrive in this temperate glade.  In the spring, blue snow bells first appear, followed shortly by a host of golden daffodils.

Later in the year, when Autumn in her russet mantle clad walks o’er the land,  we see the last leaves quiver on the trees, and woody vines reveal themselves.
